Michel Verdy
Vice-President, Laurentian Bank Securities
Michel Verdy’s career in banking began in 1987 as Branch Manager with the Vice-President of the Bankers Institute of Quebec City and was an active member of the Quebec City Chamber of Commerce.

In 1994, Michel Verdy chose to pursue his career as an Investment Executive with Scotia McLeod, a subsidiary of Scotia Bank, where he co-founded, managed and promoted the Immigrant Investor Programs as the Managing Director until 2000 Under Michel Verdy’s Management, the program proved to be a success, reaching over 400 investor applications per year.

In May 2000, Michel Verdy played an instrumental role in the second start up of the Quebec Immigrant Investor Programs at the second largest independent brokerage firm to expand its activities. This time around, Michel Verdy was not only the Managing Director of the Business Immigration Division in which he created but was also an administrator and shareholder of the firm.

Since March 2006, Michel Verdy has held the title of Vice- President of the Immigrant Investor Programs at Laurentian Bank Securities Inc. (LBS) and is responsible for all activities of the program. LBS, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Laurentian Bank of Canada, holds close to $ 2 billion in assets under its management. Its parent company, Laurentian Bank of Canada, ranks seven among Canadian chartered banks with assets over $16 billion.

With over 32 years of experience in the Canadian business environment, Michel has garned a network spanning across industries and cultures, including a strong presence among the Chinese business and social community. With over 16 years experience in the business Immigration Programs he is proud to help Chinese business people in securing their future and those of their children.
